The most effective nonsurgical laser skin tightening treatment we offer in Austin, TX, is the Sciton SkinTyte, which combines the power of infrared energy and BroadBand light (BBL) techniques to tighten loose and sagging skin. Our patients from throughout the San Antonio and Round Rock areas trust SkinTyte to give them the firmer, younger-looking skin they desire.

How Does SkinTyte Work?

Fibroblast cells that are responsible for stimulating the production of collagen and elastin become less productive as we age. This is one of the primary reasons our skin sags and we develop wrinkles. SkinTyte delivers light and heat energy deep into the dermis, the thick skin layer below the outer skin (the epidermis).

Using advanced infrared light technology and filters tailored to each patient’s needs, SkinTyte sends rapid pulses through the outer skin and heats dermal collagen while continuously protecting the treatment area with sapphire contact cooling for optical safety and comfort. Patients tolerate the treatment well without topical anesthetics.

This light and heat energy triggers the body’s healing process, producing collagen and elastin to create tighter, firmer skin. The procedure can be used on all skin types, creates excellent results, and features virtually no downtime.

Who Can Benefit From SkinTyte?

Women and men concerned about lax skin on their faces, necks, abdomens, hands, arms, or legs can benefit from SkinTyte treatments. Results emerge gradually, tightening the skin and improving its appearance by:

  • Adding volume
  • Softening fine lines and wrinkles
  • Increasing definition
  • Reducing the appearance of cellulite
  • Fading stretch marks

Instead of having to combine multiple aesthetic treatments to achieve these results, SkinTyte can produce them with a single device.

What Is the Best Treatment for Nonsurgical Skin Tightening?

The best nonsurgical option for you depends on the degree of skin laxity you want to correct, your available downtime, and whether you’d like to address additional concerns. Patients with moderate to significant skin laxity might require a surgical procedure such as a tummy tuck to attain their desired results.

Is SkinTyte the Same as BBL?

While both treatments offer our Austin patients skin tightening, SkinTyte penetrates deeper into the skin, making it effective on more noticeable skin laxity than BBL. While BBL firms early sagging, it also corrects age spots, freckles, brown spots, and other discoloration along with rosacea and other redness. SkinTyte does not address these concerns.

Does SkinTyte Work on Wrinkles?

SkinTyte is especially effective for reducing wrinkles caused by skin laxity. As the treatment firms and tightens the skin, lines or creases within the loose skin naturally smooth away. The treatment is not particularly effective for treating dynamic wrinkles caused by repeated muscle movements. In those cases, BOTOX® Cosmetic, Dysport®, and XEOMIN® are typically better options.

Does SkinTyte Work on Jowls?

Patients with mild to moderate sagging along the jawline can benefit from firming and tightening the skin with SkinTyte. These treatments can also be used on the cheeks and neck for more extensive facial rejuvenation

How Many SkinTyte Treatments are Needed?

The results produced by SkinTyte treatments take time to emerge and become more noticeable with a series of treatment sessions. We typically recommend scheduling a series of 4 to 10 treatments. Most patients see the initial results about 30 days after the first treatment, but the skin’s appearance continues improving for up to 3 months.

Are SkinTyte Results Permanent?

SkinTyte does produce long-lasting results. However, it’s important to keep in mind that nothing can stop the aging process altogether. Over time, your skin will continue to lose collagen and show signs of aging. SkinTyte essentially turns back the clock to give you more time to enjoy smoother, firmer, younger-looking skin.
