What Are the Benefits of Microneedling at The Piazza Center?
Microneedling with SkinPen® is used to reduce the appearance of acne scars, pore size, fine lines, and sun/age spots. Because it helps to produce new collagen, it also improves skin texture and firmness. Exclusively at The Piazza Center, we combine proven SkinPen® technology with medical grade products including growth factors and peptides to really enhance collagen production, so your results are better than other microneedling treatments.

Your Microneedling Procedure
Microneedling is a relatively straightforward procedure that doesn’t require surgery, anesthesia, or even recuperation time at home.
At The Piazza Center, each microneedling procedure starts with a sterile, single-use tip that contains very small needles. Your aesthetician first applies a soothing topical gel to your skin to maintain your comfort and help enhance your results. The aesthetician customizes the pen’s settings to meet your specific needs. We then guide the pen across your skin while the automatic tip rapidly makes thousands of microscopic perforations in your skin. Most procedures last about an hour.
What Is RF Microneedling?
For more dramatic skin tightening results, try Profound® RF microneedling, which combines traditional microneedling with the regenerative power of radiofrequency (RF) energy. RF microneedling usually requires just a single treatment, but it involves at least a week of social downtime.

Combining Microneedling With Other Treatments
To see your very best skin after microneedling, you may want to consider combining your treatment with other skin rejuvenation options. Popular enhancements include:
- HydraFacial®: Maintain your glow with this refreshing and effective facial treatment.
- Forever Young BBL+™: Keep sun damage and aging at bay with regular sessions of this gentle light-based treatment.
- MOXI™: If your skin is still early in the aging process, protect and preserve it with this “prejvenation” procedure.
- BOTOX® Cosmetic and Dysport®: Minimize fine lines and wrinkles to maintain your new smoother, younger-looking skin.
There are no activity restrictions after microneedling, and you can return to your normal activities as soon as your appointment is over. At The Piazza Center, we recommend using a skin care product that contains growth factors to help skin effectively rebuild itself in the days following your procedure. We’ll help you choose just the right one from our extensive selection.
Your Microneedling Results
You’ll immediately notice that your skin has an attractive glow, which will only intensify as it heals. Long-term improvement generally develops over the course of a few weeks as skin’s collagen rebuilds itself, and this period can persist for up to 6 months. If you undergo microneedling to correct a certain skin irregularity, such as a scar or acne scarring, you’ll notice a gradual improvement in its appearance.
Are Microneedling Results Permanent?
Your ultimate results should last indefinitely, but bear in mind that microneedling does not completely halt the aging process. You may wish to come in for yearly touch-ups to maintain your results for as long as possible.
Dr. Piazza Answers Common Questions
Which parts of the body can I treat?
Although facial rejuvenation is most popular, microneedling is an incredibly versatile procedure that can be performed on various parts of the body. Aging, lax, scarred, or sun-damaged skin on the neck, chest, face, arms, legs, hands, back, and abdomen can be significantly improved with this exciting non-surgical technique. It can also treat acne scarring, improving their appearance with just 3 treatments.
How many treatments will I need to have?
It depends on the condition you wish to treat. We recommend most patients get a series of 3 to 6 treatments for a specific concern, and some patients get maintenance treatments once a quarter or every 90 days. During your consultation, we’ll evaluate your skin and work with you to design a treatment plan that prioritizes your needs as well as your preferences.
What does a microneedling treatment feel like?
The SkinPen we use here at The Piazza Center has extraordinarily fine needles, making the procedure quite comfortable. Most people compare the sensation to that of sandpaper being rubbed against the skin. Most people tolerate the procedure well, and we apply a topical numbing agent before the treatment to reduce discomfort.
How long will my face be red after microneedling?
Immediately following your procedure, your skin will be flushed. This redness can last for up to 4 days, although some patients heal fully within 24 hours.
