Injectable Fillers in Austin
It comes as no surprise that as we age, our faces begin to sag, take on a more square shape along the jawline, and lose youthful fullness. In addition, we may also begin to notice other factors that contribute to an aged appearance, including fine lines and wrinkles. Treatments with injectable fillers like JUVÉDERM® Ultra Plus, Voluma, Vollure, Volux, Restylane®, Restylane® Lyft, Defyne, and Refyne, and RHA Redensity™ at our Austin practice can help improve your appearance by strategically adding volume to certain areas of the face, as well as filling in lines and wrinkles creating a more youthful appearance.
For younger patients who are not yet showing signs of sagging and volume loss, dermal fillers can be injected as maintenance or for augmentation. Injectable fillers can be used to lift and emphasize the appearance of cheekbones, enhance the appearance of the chin and jawline, and create fuller, plumper lips. Fillers can also be used to refine the shape of the nose, a procedure called liquid rhinoplasty, for patients of all ages.
Fillers like RHA Redensity can be used to fill in lines around the lips and mouth, while maintaining natural movement to allow you to avoid looking stiff or artificial while improving your appearance.
At The Piazza Center, we believe that beautiful results are enhanced by leading a healthy lifestyle. Our aim is to help you achieve your cosmetic goals and desires. If you live in or around Austin and injectable fillers interest you, request an in-person or virtual consultation online, or call our office at (512) 288-8200.
Your Injectable Filler Procedure
Before your injectable filler treatment, our board-certified plastic surgeon, Dr. Rocco Piazza, or our advanced nurse injectors Hayley Peña, RN, and Alison Kothmann, RN, BSN, will consult with you to determine your cosmetic goals and desires. Once a treatment plan has been set in place, they will begin your injectable procedure.
Before your treatment, you will have the option of having a topical anesthetic or Pro-Nox treatment (laughing gas) to help control any discomfort you may experience. Additionally, the fillers themselves come pre-mixed with anesthetic, so discomfort is minimized. The dermal filler will be injected carefully into the targeted areas to add volume and smooth lines and wrinkles, provide support, add natural volume, or naturally enhance your desired areas. After your treatment is complete, you will be able to return to your everyday activities immediately.

What Is the Best Lip Filler?
Typically, the best fillers for lip injections are formulated with hyaluronic acid (HA), a water-attracting substance found naturally in the body. Popular options include:
- JUVÉDERM Ultra Plus: Adds plumpness to your pout.
- JUVÉDERM Volbella: Specificaly formulated for use in the lips.
- Restylane: Provides natural-looking fullness.
- RHA Redensity: Specifically formulated to stretch and move with your muscles while adding volume to the lipstick lines around the nose and mouth.
Your experienced injector will select the best lip augmentation product for you after discussing your goals in depth. For lip fillers, Austin patients choose our skilled nurse injectors for their expertise, experience, and excellent results.
Fillers: More Than Lip Plumping
Beyond increasing the size or fullness of your lips, lip fillers also rejuvenate the lips and areas around the mouth and jawline. This includes:
- Removing lip lines: Fillers smooth away vertical lines on and around the lips.
- Reducing nasolabial folds: Fillers minimize these deep lines that run from the sides of the nose down to the outer corners of the mouth.
- Softening and filling lipstick lines: Fillers smooth smile lines and plump the lips.
- Define the jawline: Volux is designed to lift, chisel, and define the jawline and smooth the jowl area.

Common Questions About Injectable Fillers
How long will my injectable filler treatment last?
Depending on which injectable filler is used, the results can last anywhere from 6 months to more than 1 to 2 years. Volux for the jawline is the longest lasting filler on the market with a staying power of 18 – 24 months! It is the perfect filler to pair with collagen stimulators like Radiesse of the neck and chest. Dermal fillers administered by an experienced injector provide lasting results that appear very natural. While injectable fillers are a temporary solution for an aging face, they generally last slightly longer than BOTOX® Cosmetic.

View StoriesWhat is the difference between injectable fillers and BOTOX Cosmetic, Dysport, and XEOMIN?
Injectable fillers are used to add volume back to the face where volume has decreased, provide support, correct under-eye hollowing, minimize fine lines, or enhance the appearance of the lips, cheeks, chin and jawline. BOTOX Cosmetic, Dysport, and XEOMIN are botulinum toxins that work by relaxing the muscles that contribute to dynamic wrinkles like frown lines, horizontal lines in the forehead, and crow’s feet. Injectable fillers work to fill in fine lines and wrinkles, as well as areas of the face that have lost volume, lost support, or desire enhancement.
What are the alternatives to using injectable fillers to fill in wrinkles?
Collagen stimulators like Sculptra® Aesthetic can naturally soften the appearance of wrinkles and restore volume to the cheeks and other areas of the face. After a series of treatments, results develop gradually over the following 3 months.
The body’s own fat can be used instead of a synthetic filler. In fat transfer or fat grafting, liposuction is used to harvest fat from a specific area of the body for use in the face. This method of facial correction differs from injectable fillers because it uses cells from your own body, and may provide longer-lasting results.

Meet The StaffCan I combine an injectable filler treatment with other treatments?
Injectable fillers can absolutely be (and often are) combined with other surgical and non-surgical procedures to help produce a more comprehensive rejuvenation. Typically, injectable fillers are combined with BOTOX Cosmetic, Dysport, or XEOMIN to help improve the overall facial appearance. This is one of the best ways to protect, preserve, and correct signs of facial aging with minimal downtime. Also, fillers can be combined with surgical procedures including a facelift, neck lift, neck liposuction, eyelid surgery or brow lift.
Your Injectable Filler Results
Once your injectable treatment has been performed, you will be given post-injection care instructions, but generally you will be free to resume your normal activities. After the treatment, you may experience some slight redness, swelling, or bruising but this will subside within a day or two. In general, our injectable filler patients notice improvements of the face immediately after their treatment, and are able to enjoy their new, natural look right away. On average, results will last anywhere from 6 months to a year or more depending on which treatment you choose.
