Fixing Trouble Spots
After her breast augmentation surgery went so well, Maria Helena decided to have a tummy tuck to improve the appearance of her abdomen. “I had two children by Caesarean and my abs were never the same,” she says. Choosing Dr. Piazza to perform her tummy tuck surgery was easy. She chose him because of “his knowledge, compassion and thoroughness. He’s a true artist! And let’s not forget his wonderful team!”
She was a little nervous when she came in for her second surgery, but she says, “Dr. Piazza and his team are amazing and make you feel comfortable. They all make you feel at ease.”
By talking through what she wanted to change about her body in her hour-long consultation with Dr. Piazza and following the instructions to prep for surgery provided by the nurse, Maria Helena felt safe, secure and confident as she made the decision to have plastic surgery again. “Once I sat down and discussed my options with Dr. Piazza, he made sure all my questions were answered and that I was comfortable with proceeding.” He made her feel at ease.
She saw instant results from her surgery, but the recovery from tummy tuck surgery required a little more time and patience than her breast augmentation surgery. Thankfully, her family was very supportive during her preparation for surgery and recovery at home afterwards.
Even though the recovery was intense, she was able to recuperate in the comfort of her own home. “I was unable to stand completely upright the first week. Dr. Piazza gave me instructions to stand a little straighter each day and I used a walker to get around. I had my drain tubes removed the first week post-surgery.”
When asked what advice she’d give other patients who are considering tummy tuck surgery, Maria Helena recommends, “Take your time to heal.”
