Surgical Care Coordinator
Jennifer Dorenkamp began her professional career in 1999 as a medical aesthetician in Tucson, Arizona. She has extensive training in medical skin care and laser treatments. Jennifer has also attended CoolSculpting® University in California and boasts years of clinical experience with this specialized device. Before transitioning to her role as surgical care coordinator, she worked closely with Dr. Piazza as his clinical assistant, caring for patients after surgery.
Jennifer has a true passion for making patients feel their best inside and out. She brings that enthusiasm to our patients here at The Piazza Center. She feels a commitment to each patient, helping guide each one through a plan that best fits his or her individual goals. This opportunity to connect with patients and build relationships along the way is what Jennifer enjoys most about her role.
After spending most of her life in Arizona, Jennifer, her husband, and their 2 children moved to Austin to be closer to family. They feel right at home here and are always eager to explore everything the city has to offer.
Karen J. Iarossi
Karen Iarossi is our practice administrator. With more than 20 years of experience in practice management, Karen believes that the patient always comes first and that staff members are always a team. This philosophy is a driving factor of The Piazza Center.
As a certified medical practice executive (CMPE) through the American College of Medical Practice Executives, Karen takes every opportunity to stay current in practice management. She earned her certification in 1999 while working in a primary care practice. Throughout her career, she has managed mental health, primary care, and orthopedic surgery practices in Alaska before her move to Austin. Since joining The Piazza Center, Karen has focused her education on building an exceptional patient experience and a solid staff to support the clinic.
Born and raised in Alaska, Karen’s life includes her husband and her children; but her grandchildren are the apples of her eye. Karen also enjoys home remodeling and driving through the Texas Hill Country in her 1958 MGA, which she completely rebuilt and restored herself.
Director of Patient Services
Samantha has been with The Piazza Center since 2012. She’s a licensed cosmetologist and has been in the medical aesthetics field for more than 15 years.
Samantha began her career right out of high school, serving in the Army Reserve for 4 years. She then traveled to Europe and began working at high-end salons in the UK, styling hair and makeup for magazines. Her true passion for skin began after she moved back to the U.S. and began working with world-renowned dermatologist Dr. Howard Murad in El Segundo, California. Working for more than a decade at Murad Skin Research put her on the front line of education, research, and development with regards to the latest products and services in the skincare industry. This experience allowed her to travel the globe in an international position within the company.
Samantha has attended to advanced trainings for injectable consultations, and she’s also a graduate of CoolSculpting University. She is certified in microneedling, chemical peels, HydraFacial, and dermaplaning. Samantha is an advocate of learning as much as she can about her patients to create a customized plan that best fits each person’s lifestyle and goals.
It was after a short visit to Austin that she knew it was the city she wanted to call home. Samantha and her husband love to stay active and enjoy every second of raising their daughter CoCo.
Jennifer Schechter is the licensed medical aesthetician and licensed intradermal cosmetic technician at The Piazza Center. She has been with us since 2014. Jennifer was born and raised in Austin, where she grew up surrounded by talented industry artists. She was mentored by her mother, who was trained in the 90s as an Anastasia master brow artist. This mentorship is what ignited her passion for makeup and the art of eyebrow sculpting. She’s taken eyebrow sculpting to the next level with micropigmentation using semi-permanent, hypoallergenic mineral pigment to achieve a natural appearance.
Jennifer’s philosophy is to educate patients on how to take care of their skin so they feel confident with or without makeup. She’s certified in dermaplaning, chemical peels, HydraFacial®, medical microneedling, and micropigmentation. She believes in customizing a plan for all patients based on their lifestyles, goals, and specific skin care needs. She understands that a skincare plan is ever-changing as a person’s skin goes through its normal yearly cycles. Jennifer lovingly calls herself a “personal skin care coach” who is there to cheer on her patients every step of the way.
Jennifer, along with her fiancé Ricky and her rescue dog Kona, has made Dripping Springs her home. Outside of the office, she enjoys hiking, catching the latest movies, and seeking out new adventures.
