Case Details
This 45-year-old mother of two scheduled a consultation with Dr. Piazza at our Austin, TX practice for a tummy tuck procedure. After the birth of her children she felt her tummy took on a very stretched out appearance and what she explained as looking “shelf-like”, referring to excess skin and adiposity (fat tissue) that was still present. Dr. Piazza spent an hour with this patient in consultation, taking the time to discuss body contouring procedures. Dr. Piazza felt an abdominoplasty (tummy tuck) was the right procedure for this patient as well as liposuction in the central abdomen for the most optimal result. Austin is a city full of very active and fit individuals like this patient. Despite a healthy and active lifestyle, after pregnancy there can be areas of the body like the abdomen that are resistant to diet and exercise. Dr. Piazza and his coordinator explained the importance of diet, exercise and still leading a healthy lifestyle in order to maintain excellent results after surgery. Her tummy tuck was performed at Stonegate Surgery Center. She was back to normal daily activities about 2 weeks after the procedure and is ecstatic about her improved contour of her abdomen.
