What to Expect
Your Filler Session in Austin
Before your treatment, Dr. Piazza or one of our Advanced Nurse Injectors will consult with you to determine your cosmetic goals and set a treatment plan. You’ll have the option of a topical anesthetic or Pro-Nox (laughing gas) to help control any discomfort — and most fillers are already pre-mixed with anesthetic, so discomfort is minimized from the start.
The filler is then injected carefully into the targeted areas to add volume, smooth lines and wrinkles, or enhance your desired features. Once complete, you’re free to return to your everyday activities immediately.
After Your Session
Most patients feel only a slight pinch during injection. Mild side effects dissipate within a day or two and may include:
- Minor swelling or redness
- Tenderness near the injection site
- Minimal bruising
- Avoid saunas, hot tubs, and tanning beds for 1–2 days
- Avoid direct sun; wear sunscreen and a hat if outdoors

Your Dermal Filler Results
Because injectable fillers add volume immediately, results are visible as soon as any initial swelling resolves — typically within a few days. Bruising, when it occurs, generally fades within a week.
Results are temporary but can be maintained with periodic touch-up treatments. Injectable fillers are also frequently combined with BOTOX Cosmetic, Dysport, or XEOMIN, as well as surgical procedures like a facelift or eyelid surgery, for more comprehensive facial rejuvenation with minimal downtime.

While injectable fillers are a temporary solution for an aging face, they generally last slightly longer than BOTOX® Cosmetic .
Injectable fillers are used to add volume back to the face where volume has decreased, provide support, correct under-eye hollowing, minimize fine lines, or enhance the appearance of the lips, cheeks, chin and jawline.
