Although facial rejuvenation is most popular, microneedling is an incredibly versatile procedure that can be performed on various parts of the body. Aging, lax, scarred, or sun-damaged skin on the neck, chest, face, arms, legs, hands, back, and abdomen can be significantly improved with this exciting non-surgical technique. It can also treat acne scarring, improving their appearance with just 3 treatments.
It depends on the condition you wish to treat. We recommend most patients get a series of 3 to 6 treatments for a specific concern, and some patients get maintenance treatments once a quarter or every 90 days. During your consultation, we’ll evaluate your skin and work with you to design a treatment plan that prioritizes your needs as well as your preferences.
The SkinPen we use here at The Piazza Center has extraordinarily fine needles, making the procedure quite comfortable. Most people compare the sensation to that of sandpaper being rubbed against the skin. Most people tolerate the procedure well, and we apply a topical numbing agent before the treatment to reduce discomfort.
Immediately following your procedure, your skin will be flushed. This redness can last for up to 4 days, although some patients heal fully within 24 hours.
