Overview

The World’s First Hybrid Fractional Laser

HALO is the world’s first hybrid fractional laser — it delivers both non-ablative and ablative wavelengths to the same treatment area at the same time. That matters because it gives patients the benefits of a more aggressive ablative laser treatment with the shorter downtime associated with non-ablative lasers. The ablative feature treats the skin’s outer layer, the epidermis, while the non-ablative function treats the thicker, deeper layer of skin called the dermis. Together, this combination resurfaces and tightens the skin, improving texture and minimizing discoloration.

HALO uses a sophisticated sensing tool that precisely measures how much laser light pressure and frequency your skin requires to break down the damaged epidermis and pave the way for healthy new growth — offered at The Piazza Center, led by Austin plastic surgeon Dr. Rocco Piazza.

The Treatment

What happens during
a HALO treatment.

Treatment begins with a topical numbing cream applied to the area, and HALO’s integrated cooling technology helps keep most patients comfortable throughout. It’s normal to feel some heat and an occasional prickling sensation, but you should not feel pain — in general, HALO is more comfortable than traditional laser skin resurfacing. The procedure takes about an hour, depending on the areas being treated.

Combining other skin rejuvenation treatments with HALO allows us to target specific concerns while offering overall skin revitalization. Pairing Forever Young BBL™ with HALO, for example, allows for aggressive treatment of hyperpigmentation alongside improved skin texture and tone.

Results

Your HALO Results

As redness and swelling subside over the first few days, skin gradually reveals a smoother, more even texture and tone. Most patients see noticeable improvement within weeks, with results continuing to refine as the skin completes its renewal process.

Results can be well-maintained with sun protection and a healthy skincare routine, and many patients return for a maintenance treatment every 6–12 months to preserve their results.
