This is a 40-year-old female who sought Dr. Piazza's advice for breast enhancement at his Austin plastic surgery office. She was tired of using padded bras and was unhappy with the appearance of her breasts. She expressed that she really did not like the position of her nipple and felt that her breasts had a droopy appearance. She met in consultation with Dr. Piazza and his nurse, Hayley. After an examination, it was determined that she would need a breast lift procedure which usually means additional, unwanted scarring. However, Dr. Piazza explained that he would place the scar around the border of the areola. This scar location can provide an adequate lift in most patients but is largely dependent on the degree of breast droop present. Her breast augmentation and lift was performed in Austin at Seton SW Hospital in the day surgery department. The surgery took a few hours and was performed under general anesthesia. She went home aabout 2 hours after surgery and was back to normal activities in about a week. She is extremely happy with her size, shape and minimal scarring on her breasts.
