This 39-year-old patient, a mother of 2, came to our Austin practice because she was interested in breast augmentation and breast lift surgeries. She was concerned about her breast asymmetry but also wanted larger breasts that were fuller in the upper portion. She had significant deflation after breastfeeding her children. To improve her appearance, Dr. Piazza recommended breast augmentation with shaped gummy bear implants. She spoke with Kristin, our surgical care coordinator at length about her desired results. She then visited with Dr. Piazza in consultation. He showed her the differences between the shaped gummy bear implant and a round implant. Based on her goals with this procedure, Dr. Piazza felt that an Allergan Natrelle® 410 anatomically shaped cohesive gel implant would give her a beautiful result. To minimize scarring, Dr. Piazza used a circumareolar tightening technique, allowing the breast to be tightened and lifted in a "purse-string" fashion. On both sides, he recommended implant placement under the chest muscle for the most natural look. The patient healed very well, and she was extremely happy with the improvement in her shape, size, and symmetry.
