The Switch at a Glance
Out: Revision Skincare Nectifirm® ADVANCED
In: Pavise Tensor Neck Lift
The difference: A real retinoid. Tensor Neck Lift contains encapsulated retinal. Nectifirm ADVANCED contains no retinoid.
Best for: Crepey neck skin, horizontal “tech neck” lines, discoloration on the neck and chest
Routine: One step, every evening, plus SPF in the morning
For years, Revision Skincare’s Nectifirm® ADVANCED was the neck cream we recommended. It’s a well-made product with peptides, antioxidants and plant extracts, and plenty of our patients liked it. We’re replacing it anyway, with Pavise Tensor Neck Lift.
The reason comes down to one ingredient: retinal.

The Neck Is Where Skin Ages First
Neck skin is thinner than facial skin, has fewer oil glands, and moves constantly. It loses collagen and elastin earlier, which is why crepey texture and horizontal lines often show up on the neck before they show up on the face. Looking down at a phone for hours a day doesn’t help.
The ingredient class with the strongest track record for rebuilding collagen and smoothing texture is retinoids. The problem is that most neck creams leave them out, or use the weakest form, because thin neck skin irritates easily. That’s the gap Tensor Neck Lift is built to close.
Retinol vs. Retinal vs. Tretinoin: Why One Step Matters
Every retinoid has to become retinoic acid before your skin can use it. Retinoic acid is the active form, and it’s what prescription tretinoin is. Over-the-counter retinoids get there by conversion inside the skin:
Retinol → Retinal → Retinoic acid (tretinoin)
- Retinol needs two conversions to become active.
- Retinal (retinaldehyde) needs one.
- Tretinoin is already active, and it’s prescription only.
Retinal is the closest you can get to tretinoin without a prescription. That’s why it generally works faster than retinol at a comparable strength.

Why Encapsulation Matters on the Neck
A strong retinoid on thin skin is only useful if you can tolerate it every night. Pavise uses what it calls Lipid-Fusion Retinaldehyde: retinal held inside lipid vesicles and released gradually. Controlled release is what makes a retinal practical on the neck and décolleté, where a raw retinoid would be more likely to sting, flake and get abandoned.

What Else Is in Tensor Neck Lift
DiamondCore® is Pavise’s patented diamond-augmented zinc oxide, and it works as a delivery system that helps the retinal and other actives get where they work. Pavise reports it drives 91% more collagen synthesis, rebuilds skin thickness by up to 182% and activates fibroblasts, the cells that build and anchor skin. Alongside it, a polyhydroxy acid (PHA) complex smooths crepey texture and targets discoloration. PHAs are larger molecules than glycolic acid, so they work more gradually, which suits thin skin. A recombinant proteome matrix of growth factors and peptides signals skin to build collagen and elastin.
It’s fragrance-free, and Pavise developed and tested it with dermatologists and medical oncologists.

Fewer Steps, Better Ingredients
This switch is part of a bigger change on our shelf. Dr. Piazza and our team hand-pick everything we carry, and we’re prioritizing lines that do more in fewer steps. A neck routine you’ll actually keep up with beats a perfect one you abandon in three weeks. Tensor Neck Lift puts a retinoid, resurfacing acids and growth factors into one evening step.

“The neck shows age before the face does, and for years the best we could offer there was a cream without a real retinoid. Retinal is one step from tretinoin. Encapsulated, it’s something my patients can actually use on their neck every night.” — Dr. Rocco Piazza
How to Use It
- Every evening, apply 1–2 pumps to clean skin.
- Smooth upward from the décolleté to the jawline.
- Wear Pavise Dynamic Age Defense SPF 30 every morning.
New to retinoids? Start every other night for the first two weeks, then move to nightly.

What a Neck Cream Can’t Do
A topical can improve crepey texture, fine horizontal lines, firmness and tone. It can’t remove loose, hanging skin or the vertical bands that come from the platysma muscle underneath. If you’re not sure which you’re seeing in the mirror, that’s a quick question to ask at your next visit.
Retinal Neck Cream FAQ
Is retinal better than retinol for the neck?
Retinal is one conversion step from retinoic acid, while retinol is two, so retinal generally works faster at a comparable strength. On the neck, look for an encapsulated retinal so it’s released gradually on thinner skin.
Is there a retinoid in Nectifirm ADVANCED?
No. Nectifirm ADVANCED relies on peptides, antioxidants and plant extracts. Tensor Neck Lift adds encapsulated retinal plus PHAs.
I’m still using Nectifirm. How do I switch?
Finish your bottle, then start Tensor Neck Lift in the evening, every other night for two weeks before going nightly. Wear SPF every morning.
Can I use Tensor Neck Lift with my face retinoid or tretinoin?
Yes, on different areas. Keep Tensor Neck Lift on the neck and chest and your face retinoid on the face. Don’t layer two retinoids on the same skin the same night.
Does it help crepey neck skin after weight loss?
It targets crepey texture and density. After significant or fast weight loss, including on a GLP-1, loose skin may need more than a topical. We can help you sort out which is which.
