Tattoo Remoov™ 88 is an alternative to chemical and laser tattoo removal offered in Austin, TX, at The Piazza Center. It’s a safe and non-invasive procedure that uses a non-acidic solution to actually remove tattoo ink from the skin instead of simply fading the ink. Tattoo Remoov works by breaking down ink molecules in the tattoo and pushing them out of the skin.
How Is Tattoo Remoov 88 Performed?
Tattoo Remoov combines the movement of patented magnetic needles (that scratch but don’t puncture the skin) with a chemical reaction that draws the tattoo pigment to the skin’s surface. The pigment and inks of all tattoos, including cosmetic tattoos, contain metal that allows the pigment to stick in the skin. After the ink rises to the skin’s surface during treatment, a powerful magnet inside the needles pulls the metals safely from the skin. Removing an unwanted tattoo using this technique is safer and more cost-effective than other tattoo removal options.
What Areas Can Be Treated?
At The Piazza Center, we use Tattoo Remoov 88 to remove facial cosmetic tattoos. Treatment times are typically 20 to 30 minutes. Most patients who undergo the procedure want pigment removed from their eyebrows after getting microblading treatments. This technique works great to not only remove the pigment, but also to heal the scar tissue damage caused by microblading.
How Many Sessions Are Needed to Produce Results?
The number of sessions depends on several factors. These include the age of the tattoo, the size of the tattoo and where it’s located, your skin type, the technique used to create the tattoo, and the number of touch-ups made to the tattoo. Another consideration is whether you previously tried to have the tattoo removed with a laser or acid. It’s important to remember that one of the primary benefits of removing the tattoo with Tattoo Remoov 88 is that it preserves the health and appearance of your skin, which isn’t necessarily true using other techniques.
Tattoos are intended to be permanent, so it will take a number of sessions to remove it.
Tattoo Remoov vs. Other Tattoo Removal Procedures
Laser tattoo removal and acid removal are the only other techniques available. Each has its own possible side effects that can lead to undesirable results. Laser removal not only just pushes ink further into the skin but could break down ink molecules that the lymphatic system might absorb. This could cause cancer. You also risk hair loss and having the tattoo turn green or white.
Acid removal can cause scar tissue damage to the skin’s outer layer. Both treatments tend to camouflage the tattoo ink instead of actually removing it. Tattoo Remoov, on the other hand, safely removes the ink/pigment from the skin. This process pulls the molecules out of the skin instead of pushing them deeper into the skin.
Each Tattoo Remoov treatment takes 20 to 30 minutes, and you’ll probably notice some redness and minor swelling in the treatment area. The next 7 days of healing are very similar to when you initially got the tattoo. Caring for the treatment area is also similar, as you should avoid working out, wearing makeup, swimming, and sun exposure during the week after the removal procedure.
Who Shouldn’t Get This Treatment?
This treatment cannot be performed on individuals who are pregnant or breastfeeding, individuals going through chemo or radiation therapy, and people with immune deficiencies, advanced diabetes, severe rosacea, eczema, or psoriasis. Please consult with your primary care physician if you have any of these conditions.
