Micropigmentation subtly enhances and defines the features of brows, eyes, and lips and can camouflage scars and patchy skin spots. We also use micropigmentation at our Austin, TX, med spa for areola restoration for breast reconstruction patients. The procedure involves depositing hypoallergenic mineral pigments into the skin’s deeper, dermal layer.

Is Micropigmentation Right for You?

Micropigmentation, sometimes called permanent makeup, can address a range of cosmetic concerns for women and men. It’s perfect for individuals who want to improve the appearance of their eyes, brows, and lips. Micropigmentation can also create a stunning, smudge-free effect that can last several years for women who are allergic to traditional makeup.

Eyebrow enhancement performed by our Austin skin care experts is one of the most popular uses of micropigmentation. The optimal eyebrow shape can frame and flatter your eyes and completely change the look of your face by correcting minor flaws. Our licensed micropigmentation technician can establish the right brow shape for you by examining your face and eye shape and creating a personalized shape.

Micropigmentation After Breast Reconstruction

Micropigmentation is also used for areola restoration for patients who elected to have breast reconstruction after a mastectomy. It’s also used in some cases to enhance the cosmetic results for breast augmentation patients. Both reconstructive and cosmetic breast surgery can produce similar post-surgical traumatic breast tissue scarring and areola discoloration issues.

Areola restoration pigmentation creates the illusion of a natural nipple. If the nipple is intact, we use customized color palates that produce the best natural appearance to the areola and surrounding tissue. Perhaps most importantly, this valued cosmetic restoration treatment contributes to the emotional healing process following traumatic surgical procedures.

Camouflaging Scars

Permanent makeup effectively hides scars that can sometimes occur following certain plastic surgery procedures, such as a tummy tuck or facelift. We also recommend micropigmentation to disguise any other type of discolored scars caused by injuries. It is also very effective for minimizing the bright, white appearance of a healed scar and improves the skin’s overall appearance.

Meet The Staff

Our Approach

Patients considering micropigmentation treatments consult with our licensed intradermal cosmetic technician, who creates a plan customized to help you achieve the best possible results. After having your consultation, the procedure includes an initial treatment and then a touch-up appointment a month later, as the pigmentation fades from what’s seen immediately after the first treatment.

The permanent makeup treatment itself involves inserting a small, thin needle and hypoallergenic mineral pigment into the skin’s deeper layer, lightly contouring the target area. This is different from cosmetic tattoos, which use a different type of pigment in the ink and are more invasive than micropigmentation.

At The Piazza Center, we believe that beautiful results are enhanced by a healthy lifestyle. Our aim is to help you achieve your cosmetic goals and desires. If you live in or near Austin and micropigmentation interests you, request an in-person or virtual consultation online, or call our office at (512) 288-8200.
