While laser hair removal is very effective, it typically does not destroy 100% of the hair follicles. Our experienced, highly trained aesthetician performs laser hair removal on both large and small areas for women and men. Commonly treated areas include the face, chest, back, arms, underarms, bikini line and legs.
Most patients find laser hair removal to be quite tolerable. The sensation is often compared to a light rubber band snapping against the skin. While discomfort can vary depending on the area being treated, our advanced laser technology helps minimize any pain.
It's essential to avoid sun exposure, tanning beds, and self-tanning products for at least two weeks before your laser hair removal treatment. Shave the treatment area a day before your appointment, but avoid waxing or plucking the hairs, as the laser targets the hair follicles. In the days leading up to your session, refrain from using any skin products that can cause irritation, such as retinoids or strong exfoliants.
The duration of a laser hair removal session varies based on the size of the treatment area. Smaller areas, such as the upper lip or underarms, may take just 15 minutes, while larger areas, like the back or legs, might require up to an hour. Even with these differences, the procedure is generally quick and can be conveniently scheduled for a busy day.
After laser hair removal, recovery is typically easy and uncomplicated. It's crucial to stay out of the sun and consistently use sunscreen to protect your skin during this time. While you can return to most of your regular activities right away, it's best to steer clear of hot showers, saunas, and vigorous exercise for the first 24 hours to minimize any potential irritation.
