This 50-year-old woman spent many years considering a breast augmentation in Austin. After much research she sought out board-certified plastic surgeon, Dr. Rocco Piazza at his southwest location in Circle C Ranch. This patient told Dr. Piazza that she wanted to increase her breast size without feeling “over done.” She stressed that she wanted a very natural appearance with minimal scars. She came prepared to her consultation with a lot of specific questions regarding types of incisions, whether saline or silicone gel breast implants were right for her, and whether the implant should be above or below the chest muscle.
Dr. Piazza and his nurse Hayley spent an hour with this patient and her husband going into detail on all the different options with regards to the breast augmentation procedure. Dr. Piazza prefers a very interactive consultation where there is no pressure with regard to question asking—and decision-making. This patient elected to proceed with bilateral breast augmentation with silicone gel breast implants placed under the muscle and through a well-concealed periareolar incision (around the areola).
Dr. Piazza performed the breast augmentation procedure in Austin at Seton SW Hospital in the day surgery department. The surgery took a little less than 1 hour under general anesthesia. After recovering comfortably under the care of trained medical professionals, this patient was home within a few hours after surgery. She was back to work in about a week and is very satisfied with the decisions she chose with regard to her breast augmentation procedure.
