It comes as no surprise that as we age, our face begins to sag, take on a more square shape along the jaw line and lose its youthful fullness. In addition, we may also begin to notice other factors that contribute to an aged appearance, including fine lines and wrinkles. Treatments with Sculptra® Aesthetic and JUVÉDERM® in Austin, TX can help improve your appearance by adding volume to certain areas of the face, as well as filling in lines and wrinkles.
At The Piazza Center, we believe that beautiful results are enhanced by leading a healthy lifestyle. Our aim is to help you achieve your cosmetic goals and desires. If you live in or around Austin and JUVÉDERM or Sculptra interests you, request a consultation online, or call our office at (512) 551-1067.
Your Injectable Filler Procedure
Before your injectable filler treatment, board-certified plastic surgeon Dr. Rocco Piazza and Hayley Ruegg, our Clinical Nurse Manager and experienced nurse injector, will consult with you to determine your cosmetic goals and desires. Once a treatment plan has been set in place, they will begin your injectable procedure.
Before your treatment, you will have the option of having a topical anesthetic used to help control any discomfort you may experience. Additionally, the fillers themselves come pre-mixed with anesthetic, so discomfort is minimized. Hayley will inject the filler into carefully targeted areas to add volume and smooth lines and wrinkles. After your treatment is complete, you will be able to return to your everyday activities immediately.

Dr. Piazza Answers Common Questions
How long will my injectable filler treatment last?
Depending on which injectable filler is used, the results can last anywhere from 6 months to more than a year. Dermal fillers administered by an experienced injector provide lasting results that appear very natural. While injectable fillers are a temporary solution for an aging face, they generally last slightly longer than BOTOX® Cosmetic. Products such as Sculptra® Aesthetic have shown to last up to 25 months and possibly longer. Sculptra is an excellent way to restore facial volume to achieve a rejuvenated appearance and yields long-lasting results.
What is the difference between injectable fillers and BOTOX Cosmetic?
Both JUVÉDERM and Scultpra are used to add volume back to the face where volume has decreased. Decreasing volume contributes to a lack of fullness and thus a more aged appearance to the face. BOTOX Cosmetic is a botulinum toxin. BOTOX works by relaxing the muscles that contribute to dynamic wrinkles like frown lines, whereas injectable fillers work to fill in fine lines and wrinkles, as well as areas of the face that have lost volume. Also, the body's own fat can be used instead of a synthetic filler. In fat transfer or fat grafting, liposuction is used to harvest fat from a specific area of the body for use in the face. This method of facial correction differs from injectable fillers because it uses cells from your own body, and may provide longer lasting results.
Can I combine an injectable filler treatment with other treatments?
Injectable fillers can be combined with other surgical and non-surgical procedures to help produce a more comprehensive rejuvenation. Typically, injectable fillers are combined with BOTOX Cosmetic to help improve the overall facial appearance. This is one of best ways to correct signs of facial aging with minimal downtime. Also, fillers can be combined with surgical procedures including a face lift or brow lift. We also offer another filler called JUVÉDERM VOLUMA™ XC that stands out as the only injectable approved by the FDA to treat volume loss in the cheeks. The only way to find out if you are a candidate for these procedures is to talk to your doctor during your consultation.
